Job summary

RAPSYS TECHNOLOGIES PTE LTD in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Java developer to design and maintain scalable, secure microservices and RESTful APIs using Java Spring Boot.

You will work on API gateway or Java microservices streams, collaborate with architects and QA, ensure API security and performance, and support deployments in Unix/Linux environments.

Qualifications

• 6–9 years of experience in Java or API/microservices development.
• Strong hands‑on experience in Java Spring Boot (mandatory).
• Proven experience in either: API Gateway/API Management platforms (Axway, Apigee, Kong, Layer 7) OR Java Spring Boot microservices development (mandatory one of the two).
• Strong experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
• Experience with Oracle Database (12c/19c) and/or Cassandra DB.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Experience in debugging, performance tuning, and production support activities.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java Spring Boot.

• Build scalable backend services for enterprise banking applications (WAM/OPI).
• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and QA teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical solutioning.

The role focuses on building scalable, secure, and high-performance services using Java Spring Boot and API management technologies. Candidates may be aligned to either API Gateway (WAM) or Java Microservices (OPI) streams depending on expertise.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java Spring Boot
• Develop and support API management solutions using Axway API Manager, API Gateway, or equivalent platforms (Apigee, Kong, Layer 7)
• Build scalable backend services for enterprise banking applications (WAM/OPI)
