A leading fintech company in Malaysia is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to enhance their automated testing framework. This key role involves collaborating with engineers, designing testing suites, and utilizing modern automation tools to ensure compliance and efficiency. Qualifications

• 5-7+ years engineering experience with 2+ years in Automation Testing.
• Experience writing QA/Automation test scripts in JavaScript.
• Strong knowledge in Automation Testing frameworks like Cucumber.

• Expand the fully automated testing framework to minimize manual testing.

Projects

• 1: Core FX verification product is scaling quickly; Enhancements / changes and new features. There is an existing development road map in place.
• 2: A recent regulatory change in the EU / US mandates banks to complete a series of checks on certain transactions. To ensure banks are compliant a new complementary product is being launched (already in pilot)

Responsibilities

• Expand the fully automated testing framework to minimise manual testing and human interaction. 90% is fully automated.
• Design & create automated testing suites integrated with our CI/CD pipeline
• Writing automated test with Cucumber BDD in Gherkin syntax
• Collaborate with the engineers to build the base framework in JavaScript

Team & Culture

• Reporting to the CTO who was the pioneer engineer you join a team of 10 engineers & 1 other QA in the global engineering hub (KL)
• The tech stack and methodologies are modern and follow global best practice - they are designed to be scalable.

Must Have

• Write QA / Automation Test Scripts in JavaScript
• Strong Automation Testing (Cucumber / other)

Nice to have

• API testing (Playwright / Karate)
• Any of: Robot framework, Gherkin, Postman, Selenium etc
• Experience working as JavaScript Engineer

Bonus: You started as a JS software Engineer and transitioned into automation testing. This role is not suitable for Manual testers.

Levels

• Senior 5-7+ years engineering & 2+ years in Automation Testing
• 100% IC role reporting to the CTO

Location

• Hybrid; working 3 days a week from central KL office (accessible via MRT)
