Job summary

Siemens Energy Malaysia is seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to join a diverse team of auditors, data analysts and subject matter experts. You will assess risks, evaluate processes and develop insights that help improve performance, strengthen governance, and support the company’s strategic objectives.

This role involves data-driven analysis, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration with colleagues across the globe to gain deep insights into how our businesses operate and create value.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, engineering, data analytics or business.
  • CA/ACCA/CPA/CIA/CISA or other relevant certifications preferred.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in internal/external audit, finance, accounting, risk management or compliance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to evaluate risks and controls.
  • Understanding of business processes, operational risks, and internal control concepts.
  • Experience with IFRS is advantageous.
  • Proven track record of delivering results in a complex environment.
  • Fluent English communication across management levels.

Responsibilities

  • Execute risk-based audits across business areas to assess internal controls, financial systems and processes.
  • Apply data analytics to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop understanding of business processes and assess governance and risk management.
  • Analyze audit findings and present actionable recommendations.
  • Contribute to audits from planning through reporting with high-quality deliverables.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders and provide objective insights.
  • Support evolution of Internal Audit through innovation and data-driven assurance.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory changes.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Execute risk-based audit across the various business areas and functions, including project execution, manufacturing, supply chain and finance to assess the effectiveness of the organization’s internal controls, financial systems, and operational processes.
  • Apply data analytics, and other innovative techniques to identify trends, anomalies, emerging risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop a deep understanding of business processes and assess the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks.
  • Analyze audit findings, identify root causes, and present actionable recommendations that enhance operational excellence, sustainable business performance and ensure risks are appropriately mitigated.
  • Contribute to audit engagements from planning through reporting, ensuring high-quality deliverables and value-adding outcomes.
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders and provide objective insights that support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Support the continuous evolution of Internal Audit through innovation, knowledge sharing, and the development of data-driven assurance capabilities.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes to improve audit methodologies and maintain compliance with relevant standards.

What you Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in accounting, finance, engineering, data analytics or business.
  • Professional certifications such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CIA, CISA or other relevant certifications are preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience within one or more of the following areas: Internal or external audit, Finance, accounting or controlling, project management, commercial sales, manufacturing operations, risk management, internal controls or compliance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate risks, controls, and business performance across diverse functions.
  • Understanding of business processes, operational risks, and internal control concepts.
  • Experience with accounting standards such as IFRS is advantageous.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering results, driving improvements and operating in a complex business environment.
  • Strong project management skills coupled with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and due dates.
  • Outstanding written and verbal English communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across management levels.
  • Experience with data analytics, visualization and business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Celonis, Python or similar platforms is advantages.
  • Desire and potential to develop into future leadership roles within Siemens Energy.
  • Collaborative team player with a global mindset and strong intercultural awareness.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% mainly within the region but also intercontinental.
