JOB BRIEF
The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s inventory levels, ensuring accuracy, and optimizing the flow of goods. This role involves maintaining optimal stock levels, ensuring the timely and efficient receipt and dispatch of goods, and implementing best practices for inventory control to minimize discrepancies and costs. Besides that it is also involved in analyzing trends, collaborating across departments, optimizing inventory, and leveraging automation and data visualization tools like Power BI to improve decision-making and operational efficiency.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Demand Forecasting & Planning
- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical sales data, market trends, and customer behavior.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to adjust forecasts for promotions, seasonality, and product launches.
- Monitor and improve forecast accuracy, reducing forecast errors over time.
Supply Planning & Inventory Management
- Create and manage supply plans aligned with demand forecasts, supplier capabilities, and inventory targets.
- Ensure optimal inventory levels across distribution centers to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
- Coordinate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure efficient supply chain operations.
Inventory Control & Monitoring
- Oversee daily inventory operations including stock tracking, receiving, and dispatching.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and ensure data accuracy.
- Develop forecasting methods to improve inventory planning and prevent imbalances.
Replenishment & Stock Optimization
- Manage replenishment activities based on demand, lead times, and sales patterns.
- Work with purchasing and sales teams to determine reorder points and maintain balanced stock levels.
Warehouse Coordination
- Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure accurate inventory movement and storage.
- Support implementation and optimization of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Collaboration & Communication
- Align with cross-functional teams (procurement, finance, business units, operations) to ensure consistency in planning.
- Communicate supply chain performance, forecast updates, and inventory risks to stakeholders.
- Act as a liaison between planning and execution teams to resolve any planning discrepancies.
Capacity & Production Planning
- Coordinate with suppliers and production teams to align capacity planning with forecasted demand.
- Adapt production and procurement plans in response to demand shifts or supply disruptions.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze demand trends, supply chain performance, and inventory data to support decision-making.
- Provide regular reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs), including forecast accuracy, inventory levels, and service levels.
Process Improvement & Risk Management
- Continuously enhance planning and inventory processes for improved accuracy and responsiveness.
- Identify supply chain risks and develop contingency strategies to mitigate potential disruptions.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure adherence to inventory control policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation for inventory transactions and reporting.
JOB REQUREMENTS
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Lean, GWP, GPM, order management tools) are a plus.
- Preferred experience in order fulfillment, logistics, or operations.
Experience:
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in supply chain, demand planning, or inventory management.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects or teams.
- Experience in business process improvement, analytics, operations, or process advisory is advantageous.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in ERP and demand forecasting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage, JDA).
- Strong Excel skills; experience with statistical forecasting techniques.
- Advanced skills in Power BI and data visualization tools.
- Familiarity with supply chain modeling and optimization techniques.
Analytical & Functional Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong leadership, team collaboration, and stakeholder management abilities.
