Job summary

A leading digital payment service provider in Malaysia seeks a strategic individual to lead merchant acquisition and growth. The candidate will develop strategies to enhance the TNG E-Wallet’s presence in the East Coast region while managing key relationships with merchants and stakeholders. Applicants should have a post-graduate degree and at least five years of relevant experience, along with strong analytical and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Merchant Acquisition & Growth: Develop and execute strategies to expand TNG E-Wallet’s merchant base across key sectors and ensure alignment with KPIs in East Coast (covering Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang).
  • Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with merchants, government bodies, local councils, and NGOs to support ecosystem growth.
  • Market Insights & Support: Act as the main contact for regional merchants, providing support and analysing market trends to drive adoption.
  • Team Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration: Mentor merchant specialists and collaborate with internal teams to enhance product, marketing, and operations.
  • Campaign Execution & Product Visibility: Support onboarding, campaign rollouts, and visibility of new merchant services, including participation in key government or partner events.
  • Key Merchant Account Strategist: To manage respective region chain stores and build plans and up- sell new features such as (Merchant Specialist Products, Loyalty programs, QR Upgrade and Settlement Modes)
  • Relationship Management: To upsell the whole TNG E- Wallet eco- system to chain merchants, local government bodies, councils and NGO’s (Whichever is relevant to the respective bodies). To also source partnership opportunities for co- marketing, programs or outreach.

Job Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Business Management or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar field in a fast-paced and dynamic corporate environment is required.
  • The candidate must be able to promptly grasp and assimilate information throughout multiple business fronts and influence rapid fact-based decision-making, turning challenges into opportunities for business growth.
  • Excellent communication skills for facilitating clear lines of communication with business leadership, management, and stakeholders, which will be significant in determining the effectiveness with which important strategic approaches are applied across the business.
  • Capable of carrying out performance, market, and competitive analyses of the business.
  • Preferably located in East Coast, possess own transport and willing to travel.
