Job summary

DayOne Data Centers Malaysia I Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia is seeking a Corporate Governance professional to oversee and strengthen the company’s governance framework, policies, and compliance program.

You will report to the Manager, Corporate Governance and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory alignment, robust controls, and accurate policy documentation across the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4–7 years of governance, risk, or compliance experience.
• Familiarity with policy management frameworks recommended.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and uplift the corporate governance system of rules, practices, and processes.
• Support periodic review and refresh of governance policies and documents.
• Review proposed policy amendments for clarity, completeness, and alignment.
• Identify overlaps or conflicts across policies and propose improvements.
• Maintain documentation, version control, and policy approvals.
• Conduct governance testing and monitor adherence to policies.
• Document findings and coordinate remediation with policy owners.
• Assist in drafting and updating policies for stakeholders.
• Prepare governance reports and updates for management and committees.
• Support regulatory inspections, internal audits, and external reviews.
• Contribute to governance awareness and policy ownership across the organization.

The role will be reporting to the Manager, Corporate Governance and will be based in Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• The role will be responsible for overseeing and uplifting its corporate governance system of rules, practices, and processes used to guide and manage a company.
• Support the periodic review and annual refresh of corporate policies and governance documents to ensure accuracy, regulatory alignment, and relevance to business operations.
• Review proposed policy amendments and assist in assessing clarity, completeness, and alignment with existing governance standards.
• Identify potential overlaps, inconsistencies, or conflicts across policies and elevate findings with recommended improvements.
• Maintain proper documentation, version control, and tracking of policy approvals and amendments within the centralized policy repository.
• Perform periodic governance testing and monitoring to assess adherence to approved policies and governance requirements.
• Document review findings, track remediation actions, and follow up with policy owners to ensure timely resolution of identified gaps.
• Provide support to business stakeholders in drafting and updating policies, ensuring consistency in format and structure.
• Assist in preparing governance reports and updates for management and relevant committees.
• Support regulatory inspections, internal audits, and external reviews relating to corporate governance matters.
• Contribute to governance awareness initiatives and communication efforts to reinforce policy ownership and accountability across the organization.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline.
• Minimum 4-7 years of experience in corporate governance, internal controls, risk management, compliance, or related functions.
• Basic understanding of corporate governance principles and policy management frameworks.
• Experience in policy documentation, review processes, and governance reporting is preferred.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Professional certifications such as CGI/ICSA qualification (Chartered Governance Professional) can be a plus.
