POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Senior Associate is a point of contact for financial reporting and accounting activities in manufacturing plants in APAC (Malaysia and Singapore). This individual is primarily responsible for timely completion of statutory audit and corporate tax filings and will be responsible for timely and accurate period end reporting. This role coordinates with various functions for timeliness and accuracy of statutory audit, by working very closely with Statutory Auditor and Tax Agent.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Statutory Compliance:

  • Coordinate and collate information with various function owners (Record to report, Record to payment, Order to cash, local team i.e. warehouse, business analytic) for the information required by for external audit.
  • Explain clearly the requirement of auditor request to the process owners and challenges of providing the required information if any to the auditor.
  • Prepare the statutory accounts for the company.
  • Working with Tax Agent in proving the relevant and required tax information.
  • Ensure statutory filing and tax filing is performed timely and accurately ahead of timeline.
  • As applicable, work on Indirect Tax submission and other monthly/quarterly/annually required statutory report / government survey.
  • Follow up very closely and work on required information for Corporate Tax and VAT/GST refunds with Government Authority if any.
  • Work on Corporate Tax and Deferred Tax calculation monthly and answer Global Tax’s queries if any.
  • Prepare month end reporting FCRS schedules related to tax reporting.
  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert for local statutory and tax
  • Collaborates with the internal teams and stakeholders on the statutory and tax requirement.
  • Works and collaborates with various function owners on any audit and tax recommendations.
  • Works on Transfer Pricing documentation by understanding the industry and benchmarking it and be able to elaborate on the business from tax perspective.
  • Handle and provide required information in the event of tax audit if any.

Financial Reporting:

  • Month-end review of Balance Sheet and account reconciliations
  • Point of contact for Consolidation and Reporting team for any follow-up activities
  • Participates the regional balance sheet reviews
  • Point of contact for local stakeholders for accounting and reporting matters
  • Works with local FP&A and Head of Finance on accounting topics

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent.
  • Professional certification will be an added advantage.
  • Candidates must possess at least 3 to 5 years of audit experience. Prior experience in audit firm preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-national, matrix organization
  • SAP knowledge is preferred
