Senior Area Manager - Competitiveness Agility Team

The Senior Area Manager - Competitiveness Agility Team, is accountable for leading a team within the Partner Growth and Agility Team (PGA) that oversees the account management (strategy implementation, and planning) of lodging products for APAC.

As a Senior Area Manager, you will lead your team to support delivery of revenue and account management goals, by contacting lodging partners and successfully transmitting the EG value proposition.

By leveraging our internal tools, you'll help our lodging partners optimize their production potential within the Expedia marketplace. This involves astutely harnessing the strength of Expedia Group's distinctive data insights, marketing strategies, distribution channels, and revenue management toolset.

The successful candidate will work in close partnership with both Market Management and PGA team on some of our highest value destinations, and our highest opportunity destinations to increase conversion, mainly through a competitiveness lens.

In this role, you will :

  • Overall accountability for the APAC region for the Competitiveness Agility Team

  • The individual will play a key role in the next evolution of this team & the wider global CAT teams, in terms of ways of working & focus areas to broaden its impact on EG

  • Responsible for continuously improving team productiveness & effectiveness through coaching interactions

  • Developing skills & strengthening capabilities of team members

  • Effectively drive team performance, handle working relationships, team’s productiveness, employee engagement and morale, building an environment fitting EG Values

  • Collaborate with in-market Account Management and other internal teams on strategic and business development initiatives and ongoing operational issues. These could include, for example, commercial items, like market insights and trends, revenue enhancement opportunities, aggregator strategies, scalable initiatives and strategy development etc.

  • Will need to lead and support on change management

  • The opportunity to leverage and optimise AI / conversational intelligence tools to step change team effectiveness

  • Provide input to senior management in developing effective and scalable solutions to improve process efficiencies

  • Promote Expedia’s full suite of product offerings to lodging partners and educate them on the full use of our products and tools

  • Lead the execution of overall business plans to meet or exceed key targets, goals and/or strategic objectives set by leadership

  • Develop and monitor measures to ensure the organization's products, services, and solutions continue to perform against partner needs/expectations

  • Oversee a small number of key accounts and/or local hotel chain relationships in designated territory/country(s)

  • Nurture relationships with key decision makers

  • Hire and onboard new team members

Experience and qualifications :

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in a related field; or equivalent related professional experience

  • 5-8 years of experience, preferably in Sales/Revenue management

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in people leadership, including direct team management, coaching, and performance development

  • Proven ability to set and achieve goals

  • Strong leadership skills, emphasizing coaching in a fast-paced team environment

  • Proficient in project management, capable of handling multiple projects, prioritizing effectively, and meeting deadlines

  • Execute marketplace initiatives to optimize margin opportunities, gather lodging rates, and build long-term relationships with supply partners, especially key accounts

  • Influence both internal and external decision makers

  • Strong written and oral English communication skills, including effective pitching and clear articulation of ideas

  • Proficient in Project Management and CRM tools, as well as expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • High-impact personality with intellectual agility, entrepreneurship, and compassion, contributing as a great team player

  • Motivated, determined, results-focused, able to work independently or collaboratively to enhance team and organizational performance
