Job summary

Randstad Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced project architect to join leading architectural consultancies on railway projects.

You will lead conceptual design for infrastructure and station components, conduct feasibility studies, and prepare tender documentation while coordinating with regulators, operators, and multi-disciplinary teams.

The role requires 5–8 years in architecture, proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp and Revit, and a preference for Part 2/Part 3 architects.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of architecture experience.
• Railway project experience is advantageous.
• Part 2 or Part 3 Architects preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp and Revit.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual design for infrastructure and station components with track, signalling, and rolling stock integration.
• Conduct feasibility studies and proposals for Regulatory Authorities.
• Prepare and review tender docs, schedules, and technical specs for railway systems.
• Provide technical leadership in design development for track-structure interaction and rail interfaces.
• Coordinate with Railway Operators, government authorities, and multi-disciplinary teams.

• Lead the conceptualisation and schematic design for infrastructure and station components; ensure integration across track, signalling, and rolling stock systems.
• Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies (e.g., alignment selection, operational analysis) and formulate proposals for submission to Regulatory Authorities.
• Prepare, review, and ensure the accuracy of all tender documentation, schedules, and technical specifications for railway systems and permanent way materials.
• Provide technical leadership in design development, ensuring competency in track-structure interaction and managing critical rail corridor interfaces.
• Liaise, coordinate, and manage relationships with Railway Operators, government Authorities, the Client's leadership, and the multi-disciplinary team.

skills & experience required

• Minimum of 5-8 years of working experience in Architecture
• Experience in working on railway projects will have a big advantage
• Part 2 or Part 3 Architects are preferred.
• Software knowledge (AutoCAD, Sketchup, Revit) is necessary.
