Job summary

ShafikZaman Architect in Malaysia is seeking an Architect with 3–5 years of experience to lead project coordination, prepare drawings, and liaise with authorities to ensure regulatory compliance. The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp, with Vectorworks and Mac OS experience considered favourably.

You will chair meetings, prepare minutes, and manage documentation across design phases, while contributing to team collaboration and independent work under pressure.

Qualifications

• LAM Part II architectural credential required.
• Master of Architecture or equivalent degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of architectural practice experience minimum.

Responsibilities

• Chair meetings and prepare minutes; manage contracts and certificates.
• Prepare 2D/3D drawings across Concept to Construction phases.
• Coordinate and check consultants’ drawings.
• Liaise with authorities to ensure compliance with regulations and by-laws.
• Study options using hand sketches and AutoCAD/Vectorworks.
• Provide general office assistance.

Job description

To manage project / building contract e.g. chairing meetings / preparing minutes of meetings, Architect’s Instructions, interim certificates, stage certifications etc

To prepare 2D and 3D drawings, schedules, details and documentation across Concept Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Tender and Construction phases

To coordinate, develop and check architectural and other consultants’ drawings

To liaise with relevant local authorities to ensure compliance with regulations and by‑laws

To study options and alternatives for architectural design solutions - by hand and on AutoCAD/Vectorworks

To provide general assistance in the office

Requirements

• LAM Part II
• Master of Architecture or equivalent
• Minimum 3-5 years experience in an architectural practice
• Committed to a career in architecture, with clear professional goals

• Reliable, helpful, able to work independently, in a team and under pressure
• Good interpersonal skills with clients and colleagues
• Recognises potential issues before they become a problem, communicates promptly with senior colleagues

• Aware in principle of the Architect’s responsibilities under the Architects Act and Code of Conduct
