Senior Application Engineer – Personal Care & Cosmetics

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across our global application lab network.
• Develop innovative cosmetic formulations to highlight the benefits of IOI’s ingredient portfolio.
• Design, execute, and analyze formula experiments and physical measurements.
• Prepare comprehensive technical formulation dossiers to support technical marketing and sales initiatives.
• Present project results to internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Coordinate external production of cosmetic formulation prototypes to support commercial activities.
• Work closely with the R&D team to deliver effective technical support for customers.
• Conduct customer workshops and support sales activities across the APAC region.
• Represent the company at industry events and trade fairs.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Cosmetic Technology, Chemistry, or a related field; alternatively, completed technical training as a Chemical Technician or equivalent.
• Several years of hands‑on formulation experience in the personal care or cosmetics industry.
• Strong technical expertise in raw material development and/or cosmetic formulation.
• Passion for cosmetics and familiarity with laboratory work in a chemical or application lab setting.
• Structured, reliable, and proactive work style with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional, international teams.
• Strong analytical and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills in English (additional language skills are a plus).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel); experience with Coptis software is an advantage.
