Job summary

Marsh McLennan invites applications for a Senior Application Developer to join our Technology team in Kuala Lumpur. This is a hybrid role requiring three in-office days per week and supporting development and delivery for Japan.

You will collaborate with business analysts and vendors, write and integrate code using Express.js, Angular, Node.js and React, participate in design reviews, and ensure quality through testing and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• 5+ years in application development, preferably in insurance tech.
• Proven ability to work on multiple projects with technology and non-technology scopes.
• Strong knowledge of Express.js, Angular, Node.js and React, with Japanese language proficiency.

We are seeking a talented Senior Application Developer to join our Technology team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in our Kuala Lumpur office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

This role is part of our technology team supporting the development and delivery for Japan. You will collaborate closely with the business analyst and vendors to understand process requirements and system specifications, develop and implement the solutions.

We will count on you to:

• Handles application development using various software technologies.
• Writes programs according to specifications from technical design team.
• Integrates technical components into respective working applications.
• Participates in technical design and review.
• Creates and performs quality and system tests as required; ensures code quality and system analysis.
• Works with technical staff to understand problems with software and develops specifications to resolve them.
• Resolves issues and makes recommendations for improvements and enhancements.
• Communicates with members of the IT team on a regular basis and may serve as point of contact.
• Reviews code; creates and maintains documents as a part of the solution delivery process.
• Ensures that business standards are met.

What you need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience fulfilling the role of a SeniorApplication Developer within the insurance industry.
• Demonstrable experience across a range of projects, both technology and non-technology.
• Strong technical skills in Express.js, Angular, Node.js and React.
• Over 5 years of experience in application development.
• Ability to interpret process models, requirements, and business scenarios leading to development of the solution.
• Ability to build strong working relationships with all relevant stakeholders.
• Experience with Agentic AI: Good understanding of agentic development concepts, such as designing or utilizing autonomous AI agents to automate business workflows and data analysis.
• Ability to speak Japanese is a MUST.
