- Coach and guide subordinates in operational processes, skills, and technical know-how to improve staff productivity and maintain consistency in operational support and delivery.
- Promote accountability and transparency by fostering a sound compliance culture that reinforces ethical, prudent, and professional behavior.
- Maintain key control aspects of operations to ensure compliance with corporate requirements and risk mitigation, reducing fraud losses, write-offs, and adjustments.
- Report potential or actual breaches promptly to the respective departments and branches.
- Address actual or suspected breaches of regulatory requirements or internal policies in a timely and appropriate manner.
Operations & Controls
- Ensure transaction processing and departmental activities are completed within expected timeframes and in accordance with operating procedures.
- Perform end-to-end daily transaction processing, verification, and authorization of operational actions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with internal controls and policies to mitigate operational risks.
- Provide daily support and advice within the department for transactional activities.
- Resolve routine issues, support branches with customer inquiries, investigations, and problem-solving.
- Report defects, track complaints, and implement preventive and corrective actions.
- Complete timely reconciliations, resolve issues, and submit management/regulatory reports as required.
- Collaborate with other operations teams to resolve exceptions or queries.
- Share new ideas and concepts to improve operational processes.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
- Cover for staff absences and support bank activities during emergencies or crises.
Authority
- Verify operational actions performed according to designated procedures by checking transaction forms and data.
- Approve acceptance and execution of customer transactions or processing actions.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree qualification.
- Professional qualifications in accounting and/or banking.
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in banking or treasury operations.
- Good knowledge of banking operations, products, systems, security, and treasury.
- Understanding of statutory requirements and related rules.
- Experience liaising between functional teams, IT, and internal stakeholders.
