A leading financial institution is looking for a Senior Analyst to support regulatory oversight functions within the Consumer Credit Oversight Board. The role involves developing policies, conducting market research, and ensuring compliance within the consumer credit industry. Candidates must possess a relevant bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of experience in this field, along with strong analytical skills to derive insights from data.

Support the functional and sectoral Team Leads and collaborate within cross-functional teams to ensure effective and efficient operation of Consumer Credit Oversight Board Taskforce (CCOB) regulatory and supervisory oversight functions. This includes areas such as authorisation, surveillance and supervision, policy development and Shariah compliance related to the consumer credit industry.
Main Accountabilities
1. Policy Development and Review
· Assist Team Leads in the review and development of policies related to authorisation, supervision, regulatory frameworks, and Shariah compliance.
· Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, developments, and potential risks to credit consumers, and recommend policy enhancements or new policy initiatives as needed.
2. Surveillance and Supervision
· Support Team Leads in conducting surveillance and supervision of regulated entities through risk monitoring, assessments, as well as taking intervention actions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
· Analyse data from various sources, including on-site reviews, regulatory submissions, statistical publications and public information, to identify both idiosyncratic and systematic risks, associated with the business of regulated entities and its harm to credit consumers, and propose appropriate mitigation and rectification measures.
3. Reporting and Coordination
· Prepare comprehensive reports on the status of authorisations, supervision and Shariah-related activities, and highlighting key issues in collaboration with Team Leads and relevant regulatory authorities.
4. Public Register Maintenance
· Assist in the development and maintenance of a public register of authorised entities, ensuring the accuracy and accessibility of information for all stakeholders.
5. Continuous Learning and Development
· Adopt continuous learning and development, considering consumer credit ecosystem needs and changes, to meet job expectations.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration or Corporate / Commercial Law
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar size organisation and/or similar industry
