Key R es pon s i bi li ties
- Conduct media and Internet searches on companies and individuals in Mandarin, Japanese or Korean, as well as English.
- To investigate official sources (registrars, regulators, courts, etc.) for information on companies and individuals
- To cooperate with external vendors and provide training and feedback to the vendors on improving their quality.
- To analyse the collected information with a view to reputational, financial and integrity risk (sanctions, corruption, bribery, money laundering, terrorism financing, regulatory violations, etc.)
- Assists in training, guiding or even mentoring new hires in research work
- Communicates, trains and shares methods for success with the team and department.
- Attends to complex and/or special client requests
- Assists the Team Leader in people management
- Works closely with report/case stakeholders such as research supervisor, supporting team members, external vendor as well as case managers, to ensure the completion of the report that meets the client's requirements.
- Works with immediate team members as well as with other team members across the Risk Intelligence organisation (from various offices)
- Point of contact for the particular subject matter or knowledge expertise
Q u a li f i c atio n s/S k i l l s- At least a Bachelor's degree, preferably in international relations, political science, legal studies or business management.
- Native or full professional proficiency in Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean as role requires extensive reading in these languages and may involve interactions with clients of these languages. (Either one of the languages)
- Having compliance, Due Diligence or AML/KYC-related experience would be an added advantage.
- Have a decent knowledge of Asian and Southeast Asian markets in general concerning AML/ABAC trends
- Excellent written and analytical skills including the ability to summarise complex information clearly and concisely from another language into English and Mandarin, Japanese or Korean.
- The ability to work in a highly challenging, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to change
- Ability to handle client queries and operational issues independently
- Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and handle volumes of work
- Be a team player with a high level of initiative and a proactive approach to work
- Willingness to take ownership of tasks and issues
- Knowledge of and curiosity about international affairs
