You will design a scalable frontend ecosystem, low-code capabilities and AI-powered applications, working with backend, data and AI teams to deliver high-performance interfaces for data platforms, digital twin and AI initiatives.
We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer to lead the frontend architecture and development of the Group’s industrial digital platform supporting offshore EPCIC operations.
Reporting to the Digital Platform Lead, you will design and develop the platform’s frontend architecture, low-code capabilities, reusable component ecosystem and AI-powered applications. You will work closely with backend, data and AI teams to deliver intuitive, scalable and high-performance applications supporting the Group’s data platform, digital twin, AI agents and machine learning initiatives.
This is a frontend-focused role with an AI application focus, requiring strong expertise in modern frontend technologies, AI integration and platform engineering.
Lead the design and development of the Group’s frontend architecture, including technology selection, application structure, module boundaries and technical roadmap.
Develop scalable and maintainable frontend applications using Vue.js / React and TypeScript.
Establish frontend development standards, best practices and reusable development patterns.
Design and develop frontend capabilities for a low-code platform, including schema-driven rendering, visual page designers and page orchestration.
Develop reusable business components, form, table, chart and visualisation components.
Establish component standards, plugin and extension mechanisms, and component publishing workflows.
Support the development of a scalable component ecosystem that enables efficient application delivery.
Develop user interfaces for AI-powered applications, including AI agent workspaces, conversational interfaces, LLM-powered copilots and intelligent search.
Integrate frontend applications with AI frameworks and LLM services through REST APIs, GraphQL and WebSocket.
Support streaming responses, real‑time interactions and agent orchestration interfaces.
Develop interfaces for prompt configuration, model output visualisation and human-in-the-loop review workflows.
Establish frontend engineering practices covering build tooling, monorepo management, CI/CD, automated testing and code quality.
Utilise tools such as Vite, ESLint and Git-based workflows to support efficient development and release processes.
Implement frontend monitoring, error tracking and performance optimisation.
Explore and promote the effective use of AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity.
Develop data-intensive dashboards and visualisations using ECharts, D3.js or similar technologies.
Collaborate with backend, data engineering and AI teams to define API contracts and effective frontend-backend integration.
Apply working knowledge of backend technologies such as Node.js, Java, Python and databases to support effective cross‑stack collaboration.
Contribute to digital twin and industrial visualisation applications, including 3D/WebGL solutions where applicable.
Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of relevant frontend engineering experience.
Strong hands‑on experience with modern frontend development using Vue.js or React and TypeScript.
Strong knowledge of frontend architecture, component design and scalable application development.
Experience designing and developing low-code platforms or similar frontend platform systems is highly desirable.
Experience developing reusable and complex business components and component libraries.
Experience developing AI-powered application interfaces, such as conversational UIs, AI agent interfaces, streaming LLM applications or LLM-integrated products.
Experience integrating frontend applications with APIs and AI/LLM services using REST, GraphQL or WebSocket.
Strong frontend engineering experience covering Vite, monorepo management, CI/CD, automated testing and Git-based workflows.
Working knowledge of backend technologies such as Node.js, Java, Python and databases.
Experience with data visualisation libraries such as ECharts, D3.js or similar.
Good written and spoken English communication skills, with the ability to understand technical documentation and collaborate effective on international projects.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
Experience in AI/LLM application development, including prompt engineering interfaces, RAG applications, agent orchestration interfaces or MLOps dashboards.
Experience with low-code / no-code frameworks, such as amis, LowCode Engine or similar platforms.
Experience with 3D, WebGL or Three.js, particularly for digital twin or industrial visualisation applications.
Full-stack development experience, including Node.js (BFF / SSR), Python (FastAPI) or Java backend technologies.
Experience working with industrial data, IoT or large‑scale digital platforms.
Experience in energy, offshore engineering, shipbuilding, manufacturing or industrial technology environments.
Contributions to open‑source projects, component libraries or other demonstrable frontend engineering projects are an advantage.
