What is the opportunity?

RBC Investor & Treasury Services Malaysia is a centre of operational excellence supporting 10 countries across three geographical time zones. The country employs a Global Operating Model to maximise efficiencies across times zones and supports a 24/5 operational capability.

You will be responsible for the day to day operations of Cash management activities. The role is to deliver specific services to external and internal stakeholders with high level of quality, efficiency and fostering a client first mind-set. You will be responsible to define an appropriate control and governance to support the operations and to meet the regulatory requirements, closely working with Risk, Compliance and Change programs to support group's initiative as well as assist with Internal and External Audit and Regulatory requirements.

You will be supporting Luxembourg team, 15:00 - 00:00 / 16:00 - 01:00 hours local time.

What will you do?

  • Join the team as a Senior Administrator and perform the daily processes of team to ensure risk mitigation, policy and contractual adherence and escalation in the event of any issues that arise day to day.
  • Oversee client cash balances in major currencies and emerging currencies balances of I&TS Bank
  • Approval of client's overdrafts within Operations authority limits
  • Escalation of client's overdrafts to ICCM and GRM
  • Work with Partners globally within the Front Office, Client Services and Operations teams in back-office to facilitate quick resolution and enhance the RBC reputation in the market.
  • Manage new staff on-boarding and provide oversight and direction to the employees in the department in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures and assist manager in capacity planning.
  • Mitigate financial/reputational risk by ensuring appropriate procedures and controls are developed and maintained in compliance with regulatory requirements or company policies. Ensure adherence to all regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure to provide direct support and value to the business through initiatives that result in greater effectiveness and efficiency.
  • To provide coverage in the absence of team members and Supervisor.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have
  • 3 to 4 years of Cash and Payment Operations experience in middle / back office.
  • Payments background/ experience in swift formatting
  • Detailed knowledge of cash markets and securities industry.
  • Extensive operational knowledge / experience in Transaction Management, Corporate Actions, Foreign Exchange, Cash Payments, Shareholder Services, Fund Accounting or equivalent.
  • Good communication, presentation, interpersonal and networking skills with a proven track record of dealing with clients and colleagues.
  • Risk management and mitigation focus.

Nice-to-have
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytic skills. Excellent decision making & problem solving skill
  • Conversant and have worked with platforms such as TLM and familiar with core custody platforms: Milvus, Focus, Hiport, GPlus or similar.
