Job summary

Munich Re Retakaful, based in Kuala Lumpur, is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join the valuation team. You will contribute to experience studies, Solvency II, IFRS and Local Statutory reporting, working across markets and with clients.

The role reports to the Manager, Actuarial Valuation, and will involve AXIS model work, monitoring and collaboration with regional teams; a strong technical background and clear English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics with 8 to 10 years of actuarial experience.
• Progressing toward Fellowship with a recognized actuarial body (FSA, FIA, FIAA or equivalent).
• Strong technical and analytical skills, with attention to detail and clear communication.
• Strong MS Excel skills and ability to perform complex functions.
• Knowledge of VBA and AXIS would be advantageous.
• Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment with a focus on outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and complete experience studies via AXIS for agreed treaties/products, coordinating with regional teams for review and approval.
• Support Solvency II, IFRS and Local Statutory reporting to ensure accurate and timely submissions.
• Coordinate and monitor experience monitoring, treaty performance analysis and assumption reviews.
• Coordinate and complete AXIS model conversions for selected treaties, liaising with regional teams for review.
• Maintain up-to-date valuation data, actuarial models, and processes with proper documentation.
• Ensure treaties are accurately set up, valued and reported by the team.
