Job description

Assist the Manager / Senior Manager in providing technical and strategic support for the implementation of various company-wide business projects. This includes product and process reviews, business retention and solutioning, medical repricing projects, regulatory change requirements, system upgrade initiatives, and other business initiatives.

Support the delivery of actuarial related projects in collaboration with other relevant Departments (Operations, IT, and Marketing) to ensure projects align with the company’s vision and provide regular updates on project progression to the Manager / Senior Manager.

Assist in conducting comprehensive analyses of the company’s claims, persistency, and expense experiences. Support the preparation of detailed management reports to facilitate better understanding and informed decision-making.

Design and enhance a robust Prophet model office to enable detailed analysis of financial outputs, including Statutory Valuation, Embedded Value, New Business Profitability, Group Internal Economic Capital Assessment, IFRS17, and other financial projections for internal stakeholders, Group head office, and regulators.

Ensure accurate and timely production of financial output, guided by internal governance on Prophet enhancement.

Assess risks inherent in new processes, communicate implications effectively, and identify mitigating solutions to manage risk.

Provide general actuarial advice and expertise to address policyholder, agent, and regulatory queries. Ensure the information provided is accurate, sufficiently detailed, easily understood by the intended audience, and addresses the issues at hand.

Work closely with colleagues across departments to achieve common goals and ensure successful project execution. Encourage open communication, share knowledge, and support each other in projects.

Job Requirements

1. Degree in Actuarial Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Physics or other physical sciences or numerate discipline
2. Good progress in actuarial professional examinations.
3. At least 3 years relevant working experience
4. A numerate and analytical mind.
5. Proficiency with programming tools (e.g., Visual Basic)
6. Practical knowledge in Prophet (preferred) or other projection software
7. Meticulous with the ability to work under pressure.
8. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
