Job summary

CARiNG Pharmacy is seeking a Senior Accounts Executive (General Ledger & Reporting) to support month-end closing, prepare financial reports, and maintain the general ledger in compliance with MFRS and internal policies.

You will prepare monthly balance sheets, assist in quarterly and annual reporting, and help ensure accurate accounting data. Collaboration with tax agents and auditors is part of the role, with focus on internal controls and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or professional degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent.
• Knowledge of MFRS and internal control principles.
• Proficiency in MS Excel; ERP/SAP experience is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end closing activities with journals, accruals and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management reports, variance analysis and schedules.
• Maintain general ledger and perform balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist in tax-related schedules and SST filing documentation.
• Support annual statutory audit and ensure internal controls compliance.

Job description

Senior Accounts Executive (General Ledger & Reporting)

Responsible for supporting month-end closing, preparation of financial reports, maintenance of the general ledger, and ensuring accurate and timely financial information in accordance with MFRS and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform month-end closing activities, including journals, accruals, and reconciliations.

Prepare monthly management reports, variance analysis, and supporting schedules.

Prepare monthly balance sheet schedule and relevant notes to accounts

Assist in quarterly and annual financial reporting in compliance with MFRS.

General Ledger & Account Reconciliation

Maintain and update the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness. Review and perform balance sheet reconciliations (banks, accruals, prepayments, intercompany, etc.).

Monitor and clear outstanding items promptly.

Tax Compliance & Reporting

Assist in preparing tax-related schedules and supporting documents for corporate tax filing.

Ensure accuracy of SST filings (if applicable), withholding tax documentation, and related submissions.

Liaise with tax agents to provide data and respond to queries.

Support annual tax computation and tax audit processes.

Audit & Compliance

Support annual statutory audit and address auditor queries on time. Ensure documentation complies with internal controls and financial policies.

To assist in ensuring effective internal control procedures and compliance of accounting standards, company policies and statutory requirements

Process Improvement Assist in streamlining reporting processes and enhancing internal controls. Participate in system enhancement and automation initiatives.

Other Responsibilities

Liaise with internal departments to validate financial data.
Support ad-hoc analysis, projects, and reporting requirements as assigned.

Liaise with external parties such as company secretary, auditors, tax agents, bankers and other authorities

Support the treasury function

Requirements:

Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree/ Professional Degree in Finance/ Accountancy/ Banking or equivalent

Having a professional qualification are added advantage

Knowledge of accounting standards (MFRS) and internal control principles.

Good time-management abilities

Strong analytical skill, attention to detail and accuracy

Advanced computer skills on MS office, accounting software and databases

Able to work independently and flexible with good attitude

Effective interpersonal and communication skills

Proficient in MS Excel; experience with ERP/SAP is an added advantage.
