Job description

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and handle a full set of accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Oversee a team of accounts & administrative assistants.
  • Prepare monthly P&L and balance sheet schedules for management review, adhering to deadlines.
  • Prepare payments and perform monthly reconciliation of bank balances, creditors, and intercompany balances.
  • Assist in cash flow management by allocating, planning, and monitoring funds to ensure efficient cash flow.
  • Verify purchase orders, delivery orders, and invoices, ensuring all entries are accurately recorded in the accounting system.
  • Liaise with external parties, including the company secretary, auditors, tax consultants, bankers, and other statutory bodies/authorities to ensure compliance with all audit, tax, and statutory obligations.
  • Assist in preparing the company budget, management accounts, and other periodic financial analyses (including cash flow management, customer and channel profitability analysis, product profitability analysis, and expense analysis) to assess the company's financial health.
  • Help establish and ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and internal control policies.
  • Ensure all statutory submissions are completed before their respective due dates.
  • Assist in managing the full spectrum of day-to-day operations of the accounts department, ensuring proper reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Collaborate closely with other team heads to contribute ideas or provide advice, particularly on financial matters.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma in Accounting, LCCI, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience, particularly in managing a full set of accounts.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, regulations, and internal controls.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective cross-functional teamwork.
  • Responsible, positive working attitude, and a team player.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • High degree of initiative and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with Epicor accounting system is a plus.
  • Must be willing to work in Dataran Prima, Petaling Jaya.
