JOB PURPOSE

The Senior Accounting & Tax Manager is responsible for leading and managing the financial accounting, tax functions, and internal controls across the organization. This role will ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and tax regulations while contributing to financial strategies that optimize the company’s tax position. The position requires a strong focus on managing risk , enhancing operational efficiency through technology, and leading a team of accounting professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Accounting & Tax Manager, you will be tasked with:

Lead the preparation and consolidation of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.

Ensure compliance with financial reporting regulations, including timely and accurate filings with regulatory authorities.

Liaise with auditors and ensure smooth execution of audits, addressing queries and implementing any necessary improvements.

Strengthen internal controls to mitigate financial, tax and operational risks, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Monitor adherence to financial policies across the organization, identifying areas for improvement in operational efficiency and financial accuracy.

Continuously assess and improve risk management processes to safeguard the organization’s financial health.

Oversee the preparation and submission of tax filings, including corporate income tax, VAT/GST, and payroll taxes.

Implement tax strategies to minimize liabilities, enhance tax efficiency, and align with business objectives.

Manage tax audits, liaise with tax authorities, and ensure compliance with evolving tax laws.

Technology and Efficiency:

Leverage accounting software and technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Drive automation of accounting and tax functions where possible to improve operational workflows and reduce manual workloads.

Team Leadership and Mentorship :

Delegate tasks effectively and ensure the smooth operation of the accounting department.

Manage and mentor the accounting team, providing professional development opportunities and fostering high productivity and morale.

Develop a collaborative, results-driven team culture by promoting continuous learning and accountability.

Documentation and Support:

Maintain through documentation of financial transactions and records.

Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses for senior management.

Provide financial guidance and support to other departments as needed.

For This Role, You Will Need:

10+ years of experience in accounting, taxation, and budgeting, with significant leadership experience.

Strong leadership, organizational, and management skills, with the ability to guide teams and deliver results.

Exceptional analytical and reasoning skills with superior numeric aptitude.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Results- and profit-oriented mindset with the ability to balance competing business priorities.

Highly motivated and able to work independently while multitasking effectively.

Detail-Oriented with a commitment to accuracy and timeliness.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with strong technical aptitude for accounting software.
