TMF Group is seeking a Senior Accounting Associate for our KL office.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general accounting and reporting tasks accurately and promptly, including processing journal entries, calculating accruals, and posting allocations.
- Assist in month-end closing by ensuring all relevant information is entered into the system.
- Ensure proper reconciliation of reports and accounts.
- Handle daily Accounts Payable activities such as invoice processing, matching to purchase orders and statements, confirming authorizations, checking VAT calculations, creating payment proposals, and correcting incorrect postings.
- Manage Accounts Receivable activities such as issuing invoices and allocating incoming payments.
- Reconcile Accounts Payables and Receivables with the general ledger.
- Coordinate with clients and internal stakeholders via workflow tools and email to resolve issues.
- Manage the general email inboxes, responding to inquiries from customers and vendors promptly, supporting follow-ups, and escalating issues as needed.
- Comply with accounting standards, policies, and procedures.
- Continuously seek process improvements and share best practices across teams.
- Contribute to team metrics by achieving productivity and accuracy goals daily.
- Support the team lead in achieving performance objectives.
- Assist with the preparation of statutory financial statements with notes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and legislative requirements.
Key Requirements
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics preferred.
- Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is a significant advantage.
- 1-3 years of experience in an international or English-speaking environment, in areas such as GL accounting or Record-to-Report.
- Experience in multi-country, multi-legal entity environments is advantageous.
- Experience in BPO/SSC/Centralized delivery models is advantageous.
- Practical knowledge of accounting standards, GAAPs, IFRS is beneficial.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP/F&A systems like Microsoft Dynamics or OneSource is a plus.
- Strong English language skills (written and spoken).
- Proactive and engaged attitude.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn a range of activities from bookkeeping to corporate reporting.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and respond positively to challenges.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
