Our Client:

We are partnering with a client who is setting up a new manufacturing site in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. They are seeking an experienced finance professional to oversee and manage all aspects of finance and accounting for the site.

Our client is a well-established multinational company specializing in precision-engineered solutions for industrial applications. They deliver comprehensive services from design and development through to production, supporting customers with high-performance materials, customized components, and advanced testing capabilities. Their products serve a broad spectrum of sectors, including manufacturing, electronics, and other technology-driven industries.

You will be one of the pioneers in this exciting new chapter.

The Role:

This is a hands-on position with full responsibility for day-to-day finance operations, compliance, and reporting. The successful candidate will play a key role in building and streamlining financial processes to support the start-up and growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger entries, transaction processing, cost accounting, and preparation of financial statements
• Oversee tax compliance and reporting, including tax filing, export tax refund management, and coordination of annual audits
• Handle asset and inventory management, statistical reporting, and maintenance of accounting records
• Coordinate banking activities such as opening and closing accounts, daily funds settlement, cash flow planning, and negotiations for financing facilities
• Develop and implement local financial policies and procedures in line with Malaysia's regulations and corporate requirements
• Support the implementation of financial systems and digitalization initiatives
• Serve as the primary contact for local finance matters and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
• Undertake other ad hoc tasks as required

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• At least 3 years of full-set accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• In-depth knowledge of Malaysia's tax regulations, compliance requirements, and export tax refund processes
• Strong expertise in costing, reporting, funds management, and audit coordination
• Proven ability to establish and standardize finance procedures
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and highly organized, with a strong sense of responsibility and professional integrity
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
