Job summary

Intuitive Surgical, based in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a Senior Accountant to support the Finance and FP&A function for the manufacturing site. You will oversee accounting activities, coordinate with external providers, forecast cash, and prepare US-GAAP monthly reports.

You’ll partner with local leadership and central finance, ensuring statutory compliance and strong controls while driving continuous process improvements across Malaysia operations.

Qualifications

• Completed commercial education, ideally as accountant or academic degree with financial and accounting focus.
• 5+ years professional experience in accounting.
• US-GAAP and Malaysian local accounting knowledge is advantageous.
• Fluent in English and Malay.
• Excellent expertise in MS Office and SAP FI.
• Strong analytical skills and numerical affinity.
• Proactive and independent.

Responsibilities

• Management of all accounting related activities in collaboration with our external accounting provider who manages accounting, payroll, AP and monthly close process.
• Work closely with local manufacturing leadership and central finance functions to ramp up the manufacturing plant.
• Cash forecasting for the Malaysia legal entity.
• Preparation of monthly reporting according to US-GAAP.
• Balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain General Ledger in accordance with Intuitive guidelines and accounting manual (including all payroll related postings).
• Preparation of annual statutory financial statements according to Malaysian legislation.
• Monitoring and Settlement of IC transactions.
• Monitoring of AP process (coordination, bank clearing, payment run review).
• Maintenance of Fixed Asset Subledger.
• Support of monthly Taxation reporting.
• First point of contact for external advisors and statutory auditors.
• Close collaboration with central accounting functions in USA and Mexico.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and automation within our current accounting processes.
• Support and review and coordinate with HR and third-party processor.
• Ad-hoc reports and analysis.
