Job description

Singapore listed company looking for an experienced accountant to join its finance and accounting team in Malaysia. This role is suitable for a hands-on individual studying towards the final module of ACCA with at least 3–4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities include managing and closing the full set of accounts, overseeing payroll and HR matters, and working closely with the Group’s HR and Finance functions in Singapore, which may involve some travel.

This is a senior role within a growing Malaysian subsidiary, with potential transition into a management position within 5 years for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:
  1. Preparation of monthly, quarterly management accounts, and year-end financial statements within tight deadlines.
  2. Experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing setting.
  3. Preparation of journal vouchers, accounts schedules, and intercompany reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
  4. Preparation of statutory reports, corporate tax computations, and tax schedules.
  5. Participate in establishing, reviewing, and updating group accounting policies and procedures in line with business needs and financial reporting standards.
  6. Collaborate with Group Finance Manager and Controlling team on FP&A and value-adding projects.
  7. Familiarity with Malaysia payroll and HR matters.
Requirements:
  1. Final stage of obtaining professional accounting qualifications (e.g., ACCA).
  2. Hands-on, meticulous, and capable of managing tight deadlines.
  3. Good interpersonal and communication skills for dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Practical experience in the manufacturing industry.
