Job description

Singapore listed company looking for an experienced accountant to join its finance and accounting team in Malaysia. This role is suitable for a hands-on individual studying towards the final module of ACCA with at least 3-4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

The candidate should have experience managing and closing a full set of accounts, and be capable of managing payroll and HR matters. The role involves working closely with the Group’s HR and Finance functions in Singapore, with some travel expected.

This is a senior position within a growing Malaysian subsidiary, with potential for transition into a management role within 5 years for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of monthly, quarterly management accounts, and year-end financial statements within tight deadlines.
• Experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing setting.
• Preparation of journal vouchers, account schedules, and intercompany reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
• Preparation of statutory reports, corporate tax computations, and tax schedules.
• Participating in establishing, reviewing, and updating group accounting policies and procedures in line with business changes and financial reporting standards.
• Collaborating with the Group Finance Manager and Controlling team on FP&A and value-adding projects.
• Knowledge of Malaysian payroll and HR matters.

Requirements:

• Final stage of obtaining professional accounting qualifications (e.g., ACCA).
• Hands-on, meticulous, and able to meet tight deadlines.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills for dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
• Practical experience in the manufacturing industry.
