Job summary

Sibelco Group in Malaysia is seeking a lead accounting professional to join the Country Servicing Business Services Team. You will record, consolidate, and verify accounting records to ensure accuracy and compliance, and you will lead the financial closing process for the country.

Responsibilities include IFRS reporting, balance sheet and P&L summaries, audits, VAT and tax reporting, and coordinating external audits. Strong English and local language skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance or equivalent by experience.
• Prior experience in accounting roles with exposure to financial reporting.
• English – proficient verbal and writing skills; local language proficiency advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Verify accounting records to assess accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Maintain and balance accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
• Direct and coordinate the preparation of financial reporting according to IFRS, Sibelco Group reporting and statutory requirements.
• Summarize financial status by collecting information; prepare balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
• Provide information to auditors.
• Manage and coordinate the annual external audit process.
• Prepare VAT and other tax reporting.
• Manage tax inspections.
