About the role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing team at Homewise Construction (Melaka) Sdn Bhd in Jasin, Melaka. As a full-time role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive financial accounting and reporting services to support the company's strategic objectives.

What you'll be doing

Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements

Overseeing the month-end close process, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals

Producing detailed financial reports and providing insightful analysis to support management decision-making

Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting

Ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting policies, procedures, and legal/regulatory requirements

Providing guidance and mentorship to junior members of the finance team

Collaborating with cross-functional departments to provide financial expertise and support

What we're looking for

A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

3+ years of post-qualification experience in financial accounting and reporting, preferably within the construction or real estate industry

Strong technical accounting knowledge and expertise in Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS)

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic recommendations

Proficient in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Office applications

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

A proactive, detail-oriented, and results-driven approach to work

Professional accounting certification (e.g. CPA, ACCA, or CIMA) is preferred
