Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team at SMC Food21 (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. in Gelang Patah, Johor. This full-time role involves managing the company's financial accounting and reporting processes. Your expertise and strategic guidance will support the overall financial health and growth of our organization.

What you'll be doing

1. Report to the Group Financial Controller in Singapore HQ.
2. Provide guidance, advice, and support to the Finance team in Malaysia.
3. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
4. Prepare monthly consolidated financial reports.
5. Forecast and manage cash flow to ensure sufficient funds for daily operations.
6. Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and collections.
7. Perform monthly stock takes and prepare stock reports accurately and on time.
8. Ensure timely and accurate submission of e-invoicing.
9. Manage banking and treasury activities with bankers.
10. Prepare monthly reports, including account schedules, costings, budgets, sales reports, and cash flow projections.
11. Coordinate with auditors and tax agents to prepare audit reports, tax computations, and transfer pricing documents accurately and timely.
12. Prepare tax simulations and ensure timely submission and payment of ETP (CP204).
13. Manage monthly budgeting tasks.
14. Review import and export transactions and documentation.
15. Ensure timely renewal of company insurances.
16. Coordinate with departments in Malaysia and Singapore.
17. Perform any other ad-hoc assignments as required.

What we're looking for

1. Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Banking, ACCA, or equivalent.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience with supervisory responsibilities in related fields.
3. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
4. Familiarity with AutoCount and Microsoft applications is advantageous.
5. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
6. Positive working attitude.
7. Good presentation and problem-solving skills are advantageous.
8. Experience with intercompany reconciliation is an advantage.
9. Immediate availability is an advantage.
10. Fluent in written and spoken English and Mandarin.

Must be willing to work in Johor Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas (PTP).
