Astar has partnered with a well-respected company on the hunt for theirAccountant. This company dedicated to providing customers with integrated design, manufacturing, and product management services for magnetic products and injection-molded components.

Job Title:Accountant

Location:Ulu Tiram, Johor

Start date: Immediately if possible

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the full spectrum of daily accounting operations for the Malaysia entity, including financial accounting, bookkeeping, expense verification, financial reporting, tax filing and management, export duty management, statistical reporting, annual audits, cost accounting, asset and inventory management, and maintenance of accounting records.
  • Assist with the opening and closing of bank accounts, handle daily banking transactions, prepare cash flow planning, manage daily fund settlements, and support negotiations for bank financing.
  • Oversee financial coordination and communication for the local entity, streamline financial processes, and support the implementation of financial digitalization systems.
  • Carry out other tasks as assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

Education:Diploma or above in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of full-set accounting experience in a manufacturing company based in Malaysia.
  • In-depth knowledge of tax laws, financial and tax policies.
  • Familiar with the export duty declaration process and compliance.
  • Proven ability to manage end-to-end accounting operations and to formulate financial policies and procedures tailored to the context.
  • Well-versed in accounting, cash management, taxation, corporate compliance, and auditing processes.

Skills:

  • Strong financial management capabilities aligned with corporate governance.
  • Ability to implement internal audit functions, regulatory compliance, and tax risk mitigation.
  • Excellent communication and learning skills.
  • Detail-oriented, responsible, and committed to professional ethics.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin for communication and reporting purposes.
  • Competent in using office productivity tools and accounting software.
