Keywords Studios Asia is expanding its team to hire an experienced Environment Artist for an exciting, unannounced AAA project. The role may be permanent or fixed-term and requires working rights for Malaysia or Indonesia. Sponsorship is not offered. The position supports a remote/hybrid pattern across APAC.

You will create high-quality environment art, collaborate with art, design, and tech teams, and help optimize environments for performance and visuals on multiple platforms.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Environment Artist (5+ years) on a shipped AAA or high-quality game project.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating environment art fundamentals and processes.
• Proficiency with modern game engines (Unreal, Unity or proprietary engines).
• Lighting experience with baking and performance considerations.
• Experience with PBR workflows and optimization for real-time environments.
• Ability to work collaboratively and iterate quickly based on feedback.
• Experience profiling, debugging, or scripting for workflow automation.
• Working rights to live and work in Malaysia or Indonesia; sponsorship not offered.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality environment art.
• Build and iterate environments that support gameplay and narrative.
• Collaborate with art direction, level design and tech art to build performant worlds.
• Apply modular and kit-based approaches to environment art.
• Troubleshoot performance, consistency, or technical constraints across platforms.
• Contribute to visual benchmarks and establish best practices for environment art workflows.
• Understand textures and materials and apply them across environments.
