Sony Interactive Entertainment's PlayStation Studios Malaysia unit is seeking a Senior 3D Designer to craft high-end imagery and motion graphics for PlayStation hardware and game content. You will collaborate with designers, producers, and creative directors to deliver visuals that align with brand strategies.

The role demands 5+ years in 3D and motion design, expert use of Maya/V-Ray/After Effects (or Nuke), a strong portfolio, and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines

Qualifications

• 5+ years in 3D and motion design, animation, or a related field.
• Proven experience in creating dramatic product imagery.
• Experience in lighting to reveal product form.
• Proficient with Maya, VRay and After Effects and/or Nuke; good knowledge of Premiere Pro, Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Familiar with audio editing, motion tracking, and compositing techniques.
• Strong portfolio showing 2D/3D visuals, motion design, and animation.

• Creative Development: Conceptualise, storyboard, and develop motion design projects, creating engaging and visually compelling content.
• Production: Create, animate, and edit motion graphics, videos, and 2D/3D assets for various platforms, including web, social media, and broadcast.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with producers, creative teams, and stakeholders to bring creative visions to life while ensuring projects are delivered on time.
• Brand Consistency: Maintain PlayStation's brand guidelines and ensure high-quality, visually consistent deliverables across all projects.

Division Overview

The PlayStation Studios: Creative team is an award winning, global internal creative agency within PlayStation Studios. We endeavour to build a working environment where we can flourish and create industry leading work. Structured around 2 teams; Brand & Strategy and the Creative Studio, comprising of four core disciplines; Design & illustration, UI/UX, Motion & 3D, Film and Video. We deliver projects in collaboration with our game development and marketing/PR teams.

Role Overview

As a Senior 3D Designer, you will play a pivotal role in the design and creation of high end imagery to promote PlayStation products, as well as conceptualizing and producing high-quality motion graphics, animations, and video content for a wide variety of PlayStation hardware projects and game content. You'll collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including designers, producers, and creative directors, to deliver engaging visuals that align with our brand strategies. You'll be responsible for delivering high end visuals, under the guidance of our Creative Direction team, and ensuring that our work continues to set creative standards.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in 3D and motion design, animation, or a related field, preferably in an agency or fast-paced environment.
• Product Imagery: Skilled designer with proven experience in creating dramatic and engaging product imagery.
• Lighting: Highly skilled and proven experience in lighting to reveal the form of a product.
• Technical Skills:
  • Expert proficiency in Maya, VRay and Adobe After Effects and/or Nuke.
  • Good working knowledge of Premiere Pro, Illustrator and Photoshop Other 3D software is a plus.
  • Familiarity with audio editing, motion tracking, and compositing techniques.
  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing a range of key visuals, static CG artwork, motion design work, including 2D and 3D animation.
• Creativity: A keen eye for detail, typography, colour, and composition, with the ability to translate complex ideas into compelling visuals.
• Project Management: Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Team Player: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.

Nice to Have(s)

• Cinema4D and Redshift experience.
• Professional Adobe After Effects Experience.
