Job summary

Tenby Tropicana Aman in Malaysia is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to shape and oversee the school's SEN provision, ensuring students meet their learning goals. You will support strategic development and day-to-day implementation within a supportive team.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Education with SEN specialization and 3–5 years of teaching experience, including direct SEN or inclusive education. You’ll report to the Head of Primary and contribute to IEP development.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Education with SEN specialization or certification.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of teaching, with at least 2 years in SEN or inclusive education.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement IEPs and adapt materials for SEN students.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver lessons and activities as SEN Teacher in collaboration with the teaching team.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to SEN students.
  • Support personal, social, or physical needs and encourage independence.
  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour using positive reinforcement.
  • Prepare learning materials and adapt resources for SEN students.
  • Monitor progress and contribute to IEP development with observations.
  • Collaborate with parents and staff; participate in training sessions.

We are seeking a dedicated, dynamic, and highly committed individual to take on the role of both SEN Teacher . This role involves supporting the strategic development of the school’s Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision and overseeing its day-to-day implementation. The goal is to ensure that students with special needs are supported in meeting their individual learning goals and developmental requirements.

Opening in 2018, TTA is on a purpose-built campus located in an attractive green setting in a suburban area of Tropicana Aman, just outside of Kuala Lumpur. Sen Teacher – Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Support SEN Teacher in delivering lessons and activities.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to SEN students.
  • Student Care Support students with personal, social, or physical needs (e.g., mobility, communication, self-care). Encourage independence and confidence in learning.
  • Behaviour & Engagement Help manage classroom behaviour using positive reinforcement. Motivate and engage students during lessons.
  • Preparation & Resources Prepare learning materials, teaching aids, and resources as directed by the teacher. Assist in adapting materials for SEN students.
  • Monitoring & Feedback Observe and report students’ progress, challenges, and behaviour to the SEN teacher. Contribute to the development of IEPs by sharing observations.
  • Teamwork Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and support staff. Participate in training and development sessions.
  • Line management SEN Teacher will report to the Head of Primary.
Qualifications and Experience

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Education and specialization or certification in Special Needs Education

Experience and Skills: Minimum 3-5 years of teaching experience, with at least 2 years working directly in Special Educational Needs or Inclusive Education.
