Job summary

Inter Island Group in Malaysia is seeking an Operator for a semiconductor manufacturing environment. You will operate production machines, set up parameters, and perform assembly and finishing tasks to meet specifications.

You will work in shifts, maintain quality and safety, record data, and collaborate with QA to resolve issues. Fresh candidates with an SPM qualification are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• SPM or equivalent qualification; technical certificate is an advantage.
• Prior experience as a Machine Operator or in a manufacturing/production environment is preferred; fresh candidates are welcome to apply.
• Basic understanding of machine operation, production processes, and quality standards.
• Good hand-eye coordination and physical stamina for standing/repetitive tasks.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
• Basic numeracy skills for measurement and data recording. Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is an added advantage).
• Willing to work in shifts and overtime, as required.
• Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate production machines and equipment in accordance with SOPs and safety guidelines.
• Set up, monitor, and adjust machine parameters to ensure products meet specifications.
• Perform assembly, machining, welding, fabrication, and finishing tasks as required.
• Conduct in-process visual and dimensional checks to detect defects or deviations.
• Record production output, machine parameters, and quality data accurately.
• Report equipment malfunctions, material shortages, or quality issues promptly.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance and cleaning of machines and work areas.
• Handle raw materials and finished products to prevent damage or contamination.
• Follow 5S, housekeeping and safety practices at all times.
• Achieve production targets while maintaining quality and minimizing waste.
• Collaborate with team members, technicians and QA to resolve issues.
• Participate in training sessions to improve skills and stay updated on processes.
