Job summary

Advanced Energy in Penang is seeking an Equipment Technician II to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve semiconductor manufacturing equipment for optimal performance and safety in a fast-paced cleanroom.

You'll work with engineers on process upgrades, manage maintenance logs, and ensure quality standards. Technical diploma holders with hands-on experience in mechanical/electrical systems are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Diploma or technical training in mechanical/electrical fields or related experience.
• Ability to operate basic semiconductor equipment (wire bonder, reflow oven, SMT).
• Knowledge of BOM, SAP, MES and basic Microsoft skills.
• Good English reading ability preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and creatively.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting equipment failures and carry out timely fixes to minimize downtime.
• Support equipment setup, installation and qualification activities.
• Work closely with engineers to implement process and equipment upgrades and improvement.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operation standards.
• Involvement in CIP (continuous Improvement Project).
• Maintain maintenance records, logs and reports.
• Perform equipment, jig, and fixture preventive maintenance (PM).
• Assist engineers in spare parts management and inventory control.
• Support activities to meet Output, Yield and OEE target.
• Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.
• Other duties as assigned.
