Job summary

Horizontal Talent is seeking a Security Engineer in Kuala Lumpur to design, implement, and support electronic security systems across commercial and infrastructure projects. You will work with project teams to ensure security solutions meet technical, operational, and regulatory requirements.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in IT/cybersecurity or related field and 2–5 years of security engineering experience, with hands-on knowledge of CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and networking

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, cybersecurity, electrical or electronic engineering.
• 2-5 years of security engineering experience.
• Familiarity with CCTV, Access Control, Alarm Systems, or Electronic Security Systems.
• Ability to understand networking concepts and troubleshoot TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs, and cybersecurity tools.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and network diagrams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and coordination abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and Alarm Systems.
• Prepare engineering documentation and technical specifications.
• Review technical submissions and contractor proposals.
• Support system testing and commissioning.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor project progress.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and clients.
• Troubleshoot security system issues and recommend improvements.
• Ensure compliance with project and regulatory standards.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in commercial buildings or data centre environments.
• Familiarity with security standards and system integration.
