The overall purpose of this job is:
To support the creation and expansion of Agrobank’s Corporate Transformation Plan (CTP). To meet this purpose, the scope of this job includes supporting the process of establishing a Takaful entity from inception to operationalization:
• Formulate the strategic initiatives to establish a Takaful entity
• Design and deliver the end-to-end target operating model for Takaful business.
• Prepare relevant approval papers for internal and external stakeholders’ endorsement.
• Prepare and execute proper development plan to meet the company’s business target
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Achieve the organization’s revenue target with the implementation of various strategic initiatives.
• Plan and optimize the financial resources to generate maximum value for the company.
• To formulate appropriate strategy to create awareness on takaful products amongst Agrobank customers and the agriculture community as a whole
• To develop and provide affordable products and to cater for the needs of unserved and underserved customers
• Fulfill customer expectations on takaful products and services through efficient and effective methods and deliverables with particular focus on insurtech usage
• Provide alternative tools for the customers and the community to perform their financial transactions such as cashless or digital payment platform.
• Plan and recommend comprehensive proposal and initiatives for establishing a takaful entity focusing on agriculture with proper deliberations and due care given to matters related to Regulatory and Supervisory Framework, Shariah governance, Risk-based Capital Framework and Takaful Operational Framework.
• Assist in developing suitable training modules using the appropriate delivery channels to ensure effective and wider coverage.
• Accommodate smooth knowledge and technology transfer from the company’s strategic partners.
• Prepare relevant literatures and materials and ensure effective communication to internal stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, or related discipline
Experience: Minimum 10 years of working experience. At least 5 years’ experience with insurance, banca, wealth management, and/or financial services.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Experienced in preparing and appraising business plans and proposals for a new business venture.
• Familiar with insurance/takaful business particularly on the Regulatory and Supervisory Framework, Shariah governance, Risk-based Capital Framework and Takaful Operational Framework
• Exposure and experience in agriculture takaful/insurance would be highly advantageous.
• Experience with organizational transformation.
• Driver & self-starter – an ability to demonstrate initiative, independent, solution-oriented mindset.
• Customer focused – an ability to understand and anticipate customer’s perspectives and needs.
• Collaboration and networking – comfortable working with others to accomplish shared goals and objectives.
• Systematic and integrative thinking with an ability to connect the dots on a macro basis.
• Creative and able to come up with out of the box solutions and ideas.
• Effective communication – possess excellent ability to express thoughts orally and in writing with good interpersonal skills, communications, relationship building and presentation skills.
• Agile and versatile – an ability to respond positively, is flexible and quick to adapt to changes in work processes, environment, culture, and priorities.
• Competent with MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel and other collaboration & communication tools.
