Purpose of Role
Tenby Setia Ecohill is keen to employ an enthusiastic Mandarin teacher. The school prides itself on a progressive approach to teaching, with lessons including dynamic collaborative activities and a challenging pace. The successful candidate will be able to lead exciting lessons which inspire students to achieve amazing results.
The school has been growing quickly over the 9 years and the IGCSE results have been strong. The successful candidate will be expected to continue this trend and contribute to the wider school life and other extracurricular activities.

Key Responsibilities
· Plan, prepare and deliver Mandarin lessons for Key Stage 3 and 4 (IGCSE) in line with the Cambridge International Secondary curriculum.
· Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
· Create a visible and impactful learning environment that supports student learning and well-being.
· Collaborate with Head of Department and colleagues in department meetings, year-level teams, and whole school initiatives.
· Maintain open and effective communication with parents regarding student progress and wellbeing.
· Engage in CPD to stay current with language pedagogy and international education trends.
· Plan and lead extracurricular activities, school events, and enrichment opportunities
· Serve as a form tutor, supporting the pastoral development of students.
· Uphold the school’s safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
· A Bachelor's Degree in Education, Chinese Language or a related field.
· A minimum of 2 years teaching experience as Mandarin Teacher, preferably within an international or bilingual setting.
· Have a recognized teaching qualification (e.g. PGDT, PGCEi or similar);
· Demonstrated experience and strong subject knowledge in teaching IGCSE Chinese as a Second Language or Mandarin as a Foreign Language across Key Stages 3 and 4.
· Be willing to lead and participate in educational and trip visits.
· Experience using digital tools for teaching and learning.
· Appreciate the joys and challenges of working in an international school environment.
· A patient, caring and kind personality, dedication to teaching, be adaptable to change.
· A strong communicator, good listener and team player.
