Job summary

MyValiant in Kuala Lumpur seeks a proactive Scrum Master to support cross-functional engineering and product teams in delivering high-quality software within a fintech environment.

You will facilitate Agile practices, optimise sprint execution, remove blockers, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement for fast-paced delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach in a software development environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence for sprint management, workflow tracking, and reporting.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, Scrum and Kanban frameworks, and software development lifecycles.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, microservices, and modern software delivery practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure effective collaboration and alignment.
• Work closely with the Product Owner to maintain a well-prioritised backlog, establish realistic sprint goals, and improve team delivery performance.
• Identify, track, and resolve blockers, including technical dependencies, third-party integration delays, and development environment issues.
• Promote Scrum and Kanban best practices, encourage team accountability, and strengthen collaboration between engineering teams and business stakeholders.
• Track and analyse Agile delivery metrics, including velocity, burndown, lead time, and cycle time, using Jira to identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineering, QA, DevOps, and other technology teams to manage dependencies and support smooth software releases.
• Facilitate team discussions to identify process gaps, implement actionable improvements, and enhance overall delivery efficiency.

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Agile Facilitation: Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure effective collaboration and alignment.
• Sprint Execution & Delivery: Work closely with the Product Owner to maintain a well-prioritised backlog, establish realistic sprint goals, and improve team delivery performance.
• Impediment Management: Identify, track, and resolve blockers, including technical dependencies, third-party integration delays, and development environment issues.
• Agile Coaching: Promote Scrum and Kanban best practices, encourage team accountability, and strengthen collaboration between engineering teams and business stakeholders.
• Performance Monitoring: Track and analyse Agile delivery metrics, including velocity, burndown, lead time, and cycle time, using Jira to identify improvement opportunities.

Requirements & Qualifications
