Job summary

Pulai Springs Healthcare Centre ACC in Skudai, Johor Bahru, Malaysia, seeks a dedicated Scrub Nurse to support surgeons and the operating team before, during, and after procedures. You will maintain aseptic techniques, prepare instruments, and contribute to a safe patient environment.

Required are a nursing qualification and registration, with preference for scrub nurse experience. The role requires flexibility for shifts, weekends, and public holidays in a busy ambulatory care setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Nursing and APC registration.
• Experience as Scrub Nurse or in an operating theatre is preferred.
• Knowledge of surgical procedures, infection control, and aseptic techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work in a healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and arrange surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies according to the procedure.
• Perform instrument, swab, and needle counts before, during, and after surgery.
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs and provide instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Assist with patient preparation, positioning, and transfer while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with infection control, safety, and clinical protocols.
• Monitor the availability and readiness of surgical supplies and equipment.
• Work closely with surgeons, anaesthetic personnel, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure smooth operation of the procedure.
• Perform other nursing duties as assigned by the supervisor or Head of Department
