Job summary

Prince Court Medical Centre Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is seeking an experienced Scrub Nurse. You will assess, plan, provide and evaluate nursing care in the Operating Theatre, supporting surgeons with aseptic technique and instrument readiness.

The role requires a Diploma or Degree in Nursing with registration on the Malaysia Nursing Board and a valid Annual Practicing Certificate. Minimum 3 years’ scrub experience is essential, with strong prioritisation of patient needs.

• Post Basic Certificate in Perioperative Nursing is an added advantage.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Scrub Nurse.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, provide and evaluate nursing care to ensure patient safety and quality in the Operating Theatre.
• Assist during surgical procedures by maintaining aseptic technique and a sterile environment.
• Prepare the operating theatre, instruments, equipment and supplies required for surgical procedures.
• Check medical equipment and devices before use to ensure safety and proper functioning.
• Follow hospital SOPs, infection control policies and safety guidelines.
• Monitor and record patients’ conditions and progress throughout the perioperative period.
• Respond promptly to surgical emergencies, including haemorrhage.
• Perform effective clinical handover and provide patient education and discharge planning.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper organisation of the Operating Theatre and equipment.
• Ensure nursing care complies with MOH regulations, MSQH standards, IPSGs/MPSGs and the Nursing Board Malaysia’s Professional Code of Conduct.
