Job summary

REAL School Shah Alam, part of R.E.A.L Education, is seeking a dedicated School Nurse to support health and wellbeing of students and staff. You will assess, intervene and document health issues within the nursing scope of practice.

Reporting to the Campus Principal, you will coordinate health programmes, manage medications, and liaise with health authorities to uphold safeguarding and safety standards.

Qualifications

• A minimum Diploma in Nursing or equivalent.
• A valid nursing registration / APC with the Nursing Board Malaysia.
• A minimum of three (3) years’ full-time nursing experience in a clinic, hospital and/or other approved healthcare provider.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Good computer literacy and interpersonal communication skills.
• Patient, responsible and caring approach when supporting students and staff.
• Ability to work effectively as a team player and remain flexible to meet the needs of the school.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Providing care for injured and ill students and staff using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document care.
• Providing emergency care and facilitating transfer to outside medical facilities as appropriate.
• Liaising with the line manager concerning the health and safety of students and reporting as appropriate.
• Administering medications and treatments in accordance with school policies and as ordered by healthcare providers and/or advised by parents.
• Maintaining first aid kits on campus and for sports programmes, including approved field trips.
• Maintaining accurate and confidential logs of student visits and treatment, and communicating pertinent information to the line manager, Campus Principal or school leadership as appropriate.
• Updating student information in Engage, MyConcern or any approved systems established by the company in a timely manner.
• Assisting with student admission and withdrawal health forms, filing and computer entry for student health records, where applicable.
• Managing stock and inventory of expendable supplies and maintaining equipment for the infirmary.
• Maintaining strict security and confidentiality on all matters concerning student, employee and family health issues.
• Maintaining a valid Malaysian Board of Nursing registration/licence at all times.
• Continually seeking self-improvement through professional development in the field of nursing.
• Liaising with relevant health authorities such as PKD and MOH on health issues and health programmes.
• Coordinating health programmes for students and staff.
• Carrying out other duties assigned by the line manager, with student health and safety as the first priority.

About the Role

REAL School Shah Alam is seeking a dedicated and responsible School Nurse to support the health, safety and wellbeing of students and staff within the school.

Requirements:
