School Accountant Role Profile
The School Accountant will support the Finance Manager in managing financial operations and ensuring accurate accounting practices. This role involves assisting with financial reporting, budgeting, financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Accountant will work closely with the Finance team and Regional Finance team to ensure the smooth execution of financial processes and contribute to the organisation’s financial health.

Report to: Finance Manager
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Assist in preparing accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the Finance Manager in analysing and interpreting financial data.
- Assists in budget preparation and periodic financial forecasts.
- Ensure timely preparation of regional finance reporting package.
Accounts Management
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and general ledger functions.
- Day-to-day petty cash management and other banking matters.
- Prepare termly invoices to customer and monitor customer collection.
- Timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate and property reconcile of bank and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
Compliance, Audit And Taxation
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage E-Invoicing and assist in external audits.
- Assist in preparing Corporate Tax Computation and ensure meeting all the tax obligations.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in tax laws, accounting standards, and other financial regulations.
Cash Flow Management
- Monitor the organisation’s cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet obligations.
- Assist in optimising cash management strategies and reducing financial risk.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage working capital efficiently.
Team Collaboration And Leadership
- Collaborate with the cross functional stakeholders to ensure seamless financial operations.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects aimed at improving financial processes and systems.
- Work closely with the Regional Finance team as and when necessary.
System And Process Improvement
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of financial and accounting systems.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in financial workflows.
- Support the automation of financial processes to enhance accuracy and productivity.
And to undertake any reasonable duty from time to time, as required by the Superior.
Skills, Qualifications And Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or professional certification like ACCA/CPA or equivalent a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in finance/accounting.
Skills
- Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting practices, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Netsuite and Microsoft Office).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
