Job summary

Genting Malaysia, a leading hospitality and entertainment group, seeks a Technical Lead for Enterprise Data Warehouse architecture and data management. You will plan, design, and govern data pipelines, lead the Data Engineering Team, and align analytics solutions with business needs across the organization.

The role requires 8+ years in data architecture, strong SAS and SQL skills, and experience in data governance and BI projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Data Science or related field.
• 8+ years in data architecture, DW/BI, data lake, or data management.
• Proficient in data warehouse design, ETL, tuning and architecture.
• Strong SAS programming skills (Base SAS, SAS DI Studio, SAS Macro).
• Advanced SQL skills across SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL.
• Experience in data governance and data quality frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Plan, define and establish Enterprise Data Warehouse architecture aligned with Enterprise Data Management strategy.
• Lead and manage Data Engineering Team delivering secured, reliable data solutions.
• Assess, develop and implement new data management and integration capabilities.
• Establish development guidelines, standards, and best practices for pipelines.
• Lead Data Engineering and BI projects, gather requirements and analyze data sources.
• Review design docs: integration specs, data models, data marts, BI dashboards.
• Oversee system support and ensure high SLA with end users.
• Guide team to maintain high performance and knowledge centralization.

Responsibilities

• As technical lead to plan, define and establish Enterprise Data Warehouse architecture design, data management processes and analytics architectural solutions that are aligned with the objectives and standards of the Enterprise Data Management strategy to support business objectives and analytical needs.
• Lead, manage and provide the technical leadership of Data Engineering Team in providing secured, consistent, reliable and sustainable data solutions to support business decisions.
• Assess, develop and implement new capabilities in Data Management and Data Integration across the organization to provide better end-user experience and improve process efficiency.
• Plan, establish and implement development guidelines, standards, and best practices to ensure effective data management and data pipelines implementation to ensure optimal performance, stability, and extensibility.
• Lead and manage Data Engineering and BI projects, overseeing requirements gathering sessions with business and technical users, reviewing source system data architecture and schemas, analyzing the requirements.
• Plan and review technical design documents such as integration specification, business requirements, data model, data marts, BI reporting, and dashboard design to ensure all project scope, business requirements and changes are properly documented and provide centralization of knowledge depository.
• Oversee and manage system Support (Enterprise Data warehouse, BI reporting and various data integration points for both internal and external systems) and manage customer satisfaction by providing high quality of services delivered to end users as per SLA to minimize business disruption in the services needed by the customer.
• Monitors and guides the overall effectiveness of the team by providing direction and support to team members on work deliverables to ensure the team can achieve the defined goals while maintaining a high-performance culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in data architecture and data related experience (Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Data Management and/or Business Intelligence)
• Technical expertise in data warehouse design, data modelling, ETL architecture design and optimization, performance Tuning and Solution architecture design.
• Strong experience in SAS programming Skills (Base SAS, SAS DI Studio, SAS Macro)
• Strong SQL skills (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar databases).
• Experience designing enterprise ETL and data integration solutions.
