About the job

• Maintain SAP BASIS to ensure optimal performance and reliability at all times.
• Responsible for second and preferably third-level SAP Basis support and system maintenance.
• Execute system health checks, daily monitoring of system performance & tuning, system installation, upgrades, patching, SAP Note checks & implementation, client copies/system refreshes, transport management, user administration, etc.
• Support projects as needed.
• Manage incident tickets or handle change requests related to security & authorization, job administration, connection issues, troubleshooting functional topics, etc.
• Provide sustainable support on system optimization, monitoring, and problem analysis/resolution.
• Identify root causes of issues, collaborate with superiors on service-impacting problems, and participate in follow-up actions to restore services.
• Follow company policies and documented procedures when resolving issues and suggest improvements to procedures.

About the manager/team

This is an individual contributor role working closely with other functional and technical consultants, business analysts, and project managers in a daily support capacity within SAP BASIS, supported by vendors.

About requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in SAP BASIS, either in implementation projects and/or support (L2/L3), is preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience with at least one full cycle end-to-end implementation project at regional or global levels is preferred but not mandatory.
• Exposure to SAP S/4HANA, ECC 6.0, SAP CRM, SAP PI, SAP BW, SAP Portal, SAP Solution Manager, or SAP ABAP is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Experience with OS & database technologies such as SUN Solaris, Linux RedHat, Oracle, Windows Server, or Microsoft SQL Server is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Experience in project management and vendor management is a plus but not mandatory.
• Industry experience in manufacturing or semiconductors is a plus but not mandatory.

About salary & benefits

• Open to Malaysian nationals and expatriates who do not require a visa to work in Malaysia.
• Salary up to RM 10,000, negotiable for experienced consultants.
