About the role
The Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales & marketing plans to drive revenue growth and enhance brand awareness. This role involves leading and motivating a team, identifying new market opportunities, building strong customer relationships, and ensuring the company's brand presence is maximized. The ideal candidate will be results-oriented, possess excellent leadership and communication skills, and have a proven track record in driving sales growth and market share. This is a full-time position based in Bukit Mertajam, Penang.

What you'll be doing

Strategic Planning & Execution:

Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies for wholesale of gold jewellery markets (domestic & international if applicable) to achieve revenue targets and business goals.

Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive landscapes, and new wholesale market business opportunities.

Formulate and manage the sales and marketing budget effectively.

Monitor and analyze market conditions, customer needs and competitor activities to adjust strategies accordingly.

Oversee the full sales cycle from quotation to delivery and payment collection.

Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual, team sales targets and KPIs.

Develop and implement effective sales processes, training programs, and performance metrics.

Identify and cultivate relationships with key clients and potential customers (retailers, agents, distributors).

Handle major client account, involve in contract negotiation, credit terms, close sales deals and delivery, ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction through quality service.

Manage sales pipeline, provide accurate annual sales forecasts and sales budgets.

Monitor stock levels to align with sales demand and promotions.

Resolve customer complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner.

Monitor sales performance, analyze data, and adjust strategies as needed.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, finance, operations, inventory and logistics) to align sales order fulfillment.

Marketing Management:

Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns across various channels (digital, print, social media, events, etc.).

Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitor activities.

Manage the company's brand image and ensure consistent brand messaging.

Track and report on marketing ROI, adjusting strategies for maximum impact.

Work with external agencies, vendors, and partners to enhance marketing efforts.

General Responsibilities:

Prepare and present weekly/monthly sales reports, customer feedback, marketing campaign effectiveness, market trends, and KPIs to senior management.

Ensure all transactions comply with company SOPs, anti-money laundering (AML) regulations, and trade laws.

Set pricing strategies based on gold market trends, product cost, and competitor pricing.

Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.

Collaborate closely with other departments (e.g., product development, operations, finance) to ensure alignment of sales and marketing efforts with overall business objectives.

Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.

Organize and represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry networking events.

What we're looking for

Candidates with Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in sales and marketing, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.

Strong understanding of sales principles, customer relationship management (CRM), and marketing strategies.

Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to multitasking, work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in the gold jewellery wholesale and retail sector is highly desirable.

Fluent in Mandarin, English and Bahasa Malaysia
