Raffles College of Higher Education seeks a Sales & Marketing Manager to ensure effective student recruitment. The role includes leading a sales team, developing strategies, and managing marketing campaigns. The Sales & Marketing manager has the critical task of ensuring student recruitment (both domestic and international) is executed in a strategic, effective and financially sustainable manner. This position needs to lead a highly effective and motivated sales team, working with a well-planned and targeted advertising campaign for the College. This role is responsible for accurate and timely reporting to the Director/President.
Key duties as Sales & Marketing Manager:
1. Sales Strategy and Execution
Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive student enrolment and meet revenue targets.
Lead the sales team, including Education Counsellors (ECs), to achieve both individual and team sales goals.
Drive new student recruitment by identifying leads, counselling prospective students, and promoting continued progression for current students.
Maintain consistent engagement with prospective students throughout the enrolment cycle to maximize conversion rates.
Develop and monitor an annual student recruitment plan.
Establish and develop strategies for international student recruitment
2. Counselling and Student Engagement
Provide accurate and comprehensive advice on admission and enrolment requirements for all courses offered.
Respond promptly and professionally to all enquiries via email, phone, and walk-ins.
Counsel students and provide ongoing support to encourage retention and progression.
3. Marketing and Promotional Activities
Organize, participate in, and represent the institution at education fairs, open days, school visits, seminars, and other promotional events.
Plan and execute marketing campaigns and promotional initiatives to enhance brand visibility and student engagement.
Coordinate logistics, manpower, and materials for all marketing events and exhibitions.
4. Budget and Resource Management
Manage the sales and marketing budget efficiently by monitoring expenses, analysing variances, and implementing corrective measures.
Ensure optimum resource allocation to achieve the best return on investment (ROI).
5. Team Leadership and Development
Supervise, motivate, and develop the sales and counselling team to achieve strategic goals.
Conduct regular products training, performance reviews, provide coaching, and facilitate professional development to enhance team effectiveness.
Foster a results-driven and collaborative team culture.
Represents Raffles KL on the Raffles University International Marketing Committee.
6. Networking and Relationship Building
Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with schools, education agents, and industry stakeholders to enhance recruitment opportunities.
Act as a liaison between the institution and external organizations to expand outreach and collaboration opportunities.
7. Performance Monitoring and Reporting
Track and report on sales performance metrics, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Provide weekly updates of sales operations and student enrolments tracking to senior management.
Provide regular industry-wide reports to senior management on team performance, market trends, and recruitment challenges.
8. General and Administrative Responsibilities
Support and participate in institutional activities, including workshops, school talks, and career guidance sessions.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Proven track record of achieving KPIs and exceeding sales or recruitment targets.
Familiar with ZOHO CRM or similar customer relationship management platforms.
Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; proficiency in other languages – Mandarin/Cantonese is an added advantage.
Digitally savvy and numerically literate—comfortable working with data, spreadsheets, and tech-based tools.
Excellent interpersonal skills; friendly, warm, and approachable in engaging with students, parents, and stakeholders.
Open-minded, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Passionate about education and student development.
Knowledge of the Malaysian education landscape is a plus.
Eager to learn, grow, and take initiative.
