Company Description

Chemical Company of Malaysia Berhad (“CCM”) is a leading manufacturer and supplier of chlor-alkali, polymers chemicals, and sulphur-derivative products in Malaysia. CCM is a subsidiary of Batu Kawan Berhad (“BKB”), a major shareholder of Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad (“KLK”). With operations in 5 states and 9 sites, CCM provides essential chemicals for industries such as water purification, oleochemicals, petrochemicals, electronics, rubber gloves, and daily use cleaning agents. We export our chemicals to the Asian region.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Sales & Marketing Executive based in Bandar Baru Bangi. The Executive will develop and execute market plans, conduct market research, service customers, understand customer requirements, and drive sales initiatives. Daily tasks include managing customer relationships, coordinating marketing campaigns, and analyzing market trends. The role involves collaborating with internal teams to align sales and marketing strategies to achieve company goals.

Responsibilities

  1. Analyze sales and gross margins, implement effective marketing strategies, and ensure market share aligns with business objectives. Support market share growth and stay ahead of competitors locally and regionally by assessing market trends, developments, competitor activities, and market conditions.
  2. Identify new business opportunities in the rubber market, evaluate potential and expand the product portfolio, market opportunities, and threats to protect company interests.
  3. Gather and analyze market information, industry coverage, and competitor activities to support strategic business planning.
  4. Stay updated on market trends, new products, and technological developments in the rubber industry, and collaborate with R&D for new product development and technology strategy.
  5. Work closely with sales, operations, R&D, and business development teams to gather insights, share data, and ensure strategic alignment.
  6. Implement short- and medium-term strategic plans to strengthen market position, penetrate new markets, and explore business opportunities in Malaysia and regional countries to meet sales and margin targets.
  7. Lead market surveys and gather product information to understand customer needs, sales volumes, and pricing strategies. Plan appropriate approaches to meet department goals.
  8. Collaborate with sales and conduct joint visits to understand customer requirements, working with R&D and manufacturing to address needs or redesign products accordingly.

Qualifications

  • Market planning and research skills
  • Strong communication and sales abilities
  • Experience in marketing
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Degree or higher in business or science-related disciplines
  • Experience in the chemical industry is an advantage
  • Proficiency in marketing and sales software tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally
  • Experience in the glove industry is an added advantage
