Purpose of the Role
The primary objective of the Sales Manager position is to accelerate sales of metering products within the utility sector in Malaysia. The ideal candidate will leverage their extensive network and relationships within the local utility industry to drive sales and cultivate new business opportunities. Key responsibilities include devising and executing effective sales strategies, identifying, and meeting sales targets, and generating revenue streams. The Sales Manager will engage closely with customers to comprehensively understand their metering needs and recommend appropriate solutions. Additionally, the Sales Manager will collaborate with the technical team to ensure a smooth implementation process and deliver exceptional after-sales support services.
Key Responsibilities
Formulate and implement sales strategies with precision to effectively promote metering products and solutions to the utility sector in Malaysia, to attain targeted sales objectives.
Focus on identifying and engaging with key customers in the industry to tap into new business opportunities and achieve sales targets.
Facilitate the collection of customer specifications and actively engage in cross-functional collaboration with the Product Team and R&D Team to inform and guide the development of tailored products designed to meet the specific demands of the Malaysian market.
Manage the certification process of metering products in compliance with Malaysian regulations and guidelines, ensuring alignment with NMIM, SIRIM, and MCMC standards for sale in the local market.
Stay informed about market trends, competitors, and industry developments to inform sales strategies and stay ahead of the competition.
Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns aimed at increasing brand awareness and driving sales. Additionally, actively participate in industry trade shows, conferences, and events to promote metering products and solutions.
Compile and deliver comprehensive sales reports and forecasts regularly to management for review and strategic planning.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
Candidates should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Sales Manager in the Metering Industry or a relevant industry.
Strong knowledge of metering products, services, and industry trends.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Proficiency in Chinese is advantageous.
Results-oriented with a customer-centric approach.
Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure
Willingness to travel as needed.
